Tirhani Bio Sewage Systems primary objective is to provide a Turnkey service in Sanitation and Water Purification.

THE BIOLOGICAL PROCESS

  • After passing through a rotary screen and removing all non biodegradable solids and foreign objects, all black and grey water discharged from the ablution facilities is collected in a two stage collection tank, from where the effluent is then pumped at a controlled flow to the treatment plant.
  • The Moving Bed Biofilm reactor consists of tanks filled with plastic “media”. The large surface area of the plastic media provide sufficient surface area for bacterial growth. Biomass grows on the surface as a thin film, so the greater the biomass growth the more efficient the break down process. The reactor is aerated by mechanical blowers in order to oxygenate the biomass to ensure healthy growth of the organic population in the water.
  • The biofilm or algae processes the incoming nutrients from the influent and in turn releases nitrogen and carbon dioxides.
  • The aeration further ensures that the media is constantly in motion in the influent and facilitates scouring of the dead algae from the media which through the process of clarification is collected and returned to the anaerobic chamber, from where the sludge is then re-processed. This makes the process an entirely closed loop system.
  • The treated water now enters the final stage being sterilization. Disinfection or sterilization is the process designed to kill or inactivate most microorganisms in wastewater, including essentially all pathogenic organisms.
  • Pathogen removal is important in the treatment of wastewater since the final discharge goes to bodies of water that serve as, Public water supplies, Recreational uses or for Irrigation purposes.
  • As the BIO system does not require any chemicals, the sterilization process is taken care of by introducing Ozone (O3) into the water. Ozone is known to be 3 times more effective than chlorine for sterilization.
  • Odorless and mineral clear water can now be discharged from the system or transferred to holding tanks for uses such as:
    • Introduced back into the ablution system for flushing,
    • Irrigation of vegetation, crops or sporting fields.
  • Activated Sludge or “dead algae” generated during the process is transferred back to the collection tanks, effectively kick starting the biological process thereby improving efficiencies.
    • No requirement for sludge drying Beds
    • No manual Sludge handling.
